A letter from our winemaker, Felipe Ramirez

I love to create layers of flavors in our glass, I love different aromas coming from our wines, I love complexity

With complexity became curiosity. Complexity suggests nuance, depth, and consideration.
Complexity can keep life interesting, as when we develop complex rituals for making a simple cup of coffee or when we carefully tend our sourdough starters for the perfect loaf of bread, so let’s add complexity!

We’ve been working very deep this past 10 years on volcanic rocky soils.
Searching different soils for our only Chardonnay at Rose & Arrow gave me a deeper understanding of another type of rock, different than volcanic: the sedimentary soils. We’ve been learning more about them and finding different types.

Similar to our volcanic soils, we look for shallow rocky soils, which are harder to find in sedimentary systems. After digging many soil pits, we found a very old particular white sedimentary soil, full of silt and sand in our Eola Spring Vineyard.

The result is this beautiful and exciting wine I’m presenting to you: Eola Springs Pinot Noir 2023
Very red fresh juicy fruit aromas combine with a chalky textured palate, freshness, and balance, all together in a glass.

Layers of complexity in your glass… quite simple

Tasting Notes

2023 Eola Springs Pinot Noir
Eola-Amity Hills AVA | Inaugural Vintage

Our first Pinot Noir rooted in sedimentary soils, Eola Springs reveals a distinct expression shaped by silty and sandy soils at an elevation of 600 feet. The wine opens with vibrant red fruit and wild berry, carried by a natural freshness that reflects its lighter, more porous soils. On the palate, it is juicy and finely etched, with a delicate, fine-grain chalk that frames the fruit. The finish lingers with clarity and lift, leaving a long, refined impression of red berries and earth.

2023 Eola Springs Chardonnay
Eola-Amity Hills AVA

Eola Springs Chardonnay opens with a restrained, austere character that frames its mineral expression. Aromas of white flowers lift from the glass, supported by a core of marine influence, wet stone, and acid. On the palate, the wine shows a fine chalky texture, and the finish is long and mineral-driven, carrying a saline edge that reinforces both freshness and clarity.

2023 Red Label Pinot Noir
Willamette Valley AVA

Red Label opens with a pure expression of fresh red fruit, lifted and precise. The palate is balanced, with fruit and structure in harmony, carried by a subtle rocky impression. Tannins are well-integrated, supporting length without excess weight. The finish is long and persistent, leaving both freshness and minerality at the close.
